Best Responsive Themes – Modernize
WordPress powered websites are the best responsive themes that I have researched and tested. At last count, there were nearly 1,000. I emphasize the word – tested, because not all themes that are labeled responsive truly are. Still more need to be pinched and re-sized in order to actually see and easily navigate, so these I have eliminated. What is a Responsive Theme?
A responsive theme is a pre-designed template with a flexible foundation that is based on a special grid system that adapts either a desktop or to any mobile device. The purpose of having one is that it eliminates having two different sites – one for desktop viewing and one for mobile devices such as Android, iPhone, or iPad. Prior to this, business had to have two separate sites – usually a sub-domain if they wanted their websites to be readable to people viewing their site on a mobile device. It not only made for double work, but it also interfered with search engine ranking, because duplicate content serves only to compete and thus downgrade relevancy as far as Google, Yahoo, or Bing is concerned.
Today, I tested the theme Modernize, which I personally tested on my own Android phone and therefore can recommend without hesitation. Not only is Modernize one of the best responsive themes, but it is beautifully designed and affordably priced. Why pay more when you don’t have to?

I really like the fact that Modernize is a WordPress responsive theme that also has a well designed footer section, which makes it easy to navigate on either a desktop computer or mobile device. Not all responsive themes will display all elements of the desktop version, but Modernize does – including the footer. The four column feature allows you to customize whether you will have a sidebar at all, a right sidebar, a left sidebar, or sidebars on either side of your blog and portfolio sections. The position of the sidebar will reflect accordingly on a mobile device.
Another reason for rating Modernize as one of the best responsive themes is that it has both the sidebar option as well as a footer option. In either or both of these sections, you can place ads, social network links, links to pages, posts, videos, pictures, and more.
