OnlyWire – Automatic Social Bookmarking Plug-in
I’ve been using OnlyWire on and off for about three years. I find it to still be the best automatic bookmarking tool on the market. Right now, it is capable of submitting up to 41 services at once! All other services I have tried require individual logins, but OnlyWire does not, except with your initial set-up. The initial set-up is done either on the OnlyWIre website or on your own site, if you have the OnlyWire plug-in installed. You also have to install the OnlyWire Submitter tool in order to confirm your submission. Once installed, the OnlyWire Submitter appears as a small icon in your desktop toolbar. Here are the steps involved in taking full advantage of the OnlyWire service:
Step One
The set-up consists of entering your password and username into the Services page for each service. So, for instance, if I want to include my facebook profile, I find the facebook icon and input my facebook email address and password. Once done, I save my settings and go onto the next account I want to use. Simple as that!
Step Two
You have several options for bookmarking, either directly on a site which has the OnlyWire plug-in installed, or by using my browser plug. Usually, most of the information is already filled out such as name of the post and its URL. However, you have the option of filling in a brief description of the page as well as any keywords that you want to include. In other words, this part is not automated, but optional.
Step Three
Next, suppose I just found an article that I want to bookmark, either from my own site or another site. I click the OnlyWire button on the site or in my browser and the browser is directed to the OnlyWire site. It used to be that you could use frames to see your website, but that option seems to have changed. I recommend opening up a second window when you bookmark, so you have the information in front of you.
Step Four
After a few minutes, the OnlyWire Submitter will pop-up on your screen and ask you to type in a capcha form in order to authenticate your submission. Within a matter of minutes, you can check the status of your posts on the OnlyWire website. There, you can check the status of your submissions, including those that failed on the History page. If your submission failed, you may want to recheck your username and password, as well as try to logon to the particular bookmarking site in question and check your login information. Once logged into your account, you can manually submit your bookmark if you choose.
It’s always a good idea to check your social media accounts to see that your OnlyWire submissions are going through. Also, once you have a new bookmark, you can interact and recommend your post to other users. Using OnlyWire is a fun and easy way to get your point across and engage with new people.
